FiiO SnowSky Echo Mini – a Compact Cassette… No, a Walkman-Style Digital Player!

19.02.2025 07:46 | ~2 minutes read

FiiO has introduced a spectacular portable HD music player FiiO SnowSky Echo Mini – the design of which is inspired by the iconic Sony Walkman cassette players. Moreover, even the control logic and control buttons here coincide with the ancestor. And the color 1.99" IPS display and a resolution of 170 x 320 pixels displays the animation of the playing cassette during playback of digital files.

But the heart of the player, of course, is the digital sound playback system – the device cannot play compact cassettes. The SnowSky Echo Mini player is capable of playing music from microSD memory cards with a capacity of up to 256 GB. The memory capacity of the player itself is 8 GB. All popular formats are supported, including MP3, M4A, APE, WAV, FLAC – but DSD is not supported. The signal-to-noise ratio reaches 127 - 131 dB. There are also two headphone outputs on board. The SnowSky Echo Mini player measures 80 x 54.5 x 14.5 millimeters and weighs only 55 grams.

The SnowSky Echo Mini output stage is capable of delivering 130 mW to headphones with a nominal impedance of 16 ohms via an unbalanced output on a 3.5 mm mini-jack or 150 mW at 16 ohms via a balanced output on a 4.4 mm Pentaconn connector. Alternatively, a Bluetooth 5.3 wireless interface with support for SBC and AAC codecs is also available. The SnowSky Echo Mini has a built-in 1,100 mAh battery, which provides up to 15 hours of playback time.

The FiiO SnowSky Echo Mini is available in black, light blue and pink, with a suggested retail price of €64.98.
