MBL International has announced an upgrade to its renowned MBL 120 bookshelf loudspeakers - the new MBL 120 MKII version. These speakers combine the company’s signature radial radiator technology - used for mid and high frequencies - with traditional dynamic drivers for low frequencies.

A key feature of the MBL 120 MKII is the "Radialstrahler" technology, which enables 360-degree sound dispersion. Unlike conventional loudspeakers, which are typically designed for a specific "sweet spot" (such as a single seat or sofa), the MBL 120 MKII creates a more uniform sound field throughout the entire room, effortlessly delivering a three-dimensional soundstage for multiple listeners simultaneously.

Despite their relatively modest dimensions, the MBL 120 MKIIs are well-suited for rooms up to 35 square meters. In the MKII version, the manufacturer has updated the crossover networks using high-quality components from Intertechnik and incorporated new WBT speaker terminals. Additionally, the range of available finishes has been expanded.

The low-frequency range is handled by two 6.5-inch aluminum drivers operating in a push-push configuration. This three-way system features crossover frequencies at 650 Hz and 3500 Hz, with a specified low-frequency cutoff of 61 Hz. The nominal impedance is 4 ohms; however, given the characteristically relatively low sensitivity, it is advisable to pair these loudspeakers with a powerful and stable amplifier.

Each speaker measures 1213 × 300 × 386 mm and weighs 17.5 kg (or 28 kg when including the stand). The recommended retail price for the MBL 120 MKII is 23,900 euros per pair, while the set including stands is priced at 25,720 euros.
