The ANDAGIO is a field coil horn loudspeaker from Voxativ, the Berlin-area maker whose founder and chief engineer is Inès Adler, and it was first presented at HIGH-END Munich in May 2024. Its horn is loaded from the rear, a reworking of the side-loaded layout used in the AMPEGGIO DUE, which gives a deeper cabinet but one that fits rooms with limited width more easily. At launch the pair cost USD 32,900 with the AC-X driver, USD 36,900 with the AC-X2 and USD 69,900 with the AC-XHB, while current US prices are USD 54,900, USD 62,900 and USD 72,900 for the same three versions.

Key specs that matter

Voxativ specifies 25 Hz to 20 kHz, an efficiency of 110 dB at 1 W and 1 m and a power capacity of 50 W sine. The cabinet is 60 cm wide, 140 cm high and 60 cm deep, and each speaker weighs 70 kg. The finish is piano lacquer in Berlin black. Factory lead time is 14 days.

Engineering and use context

All three driver options are field coil designs, meaning the magnetic field comes from electromagnets fed with direct current instead of from permanent magnets alone. The AC-X has a paper cone and the AC-X2 a wooden one. The AC-XHB is the hybrid of the range, where a neodymium ring works together with the energised coil to produce 24,000 gauss across a 10 mm gap, and its tone wood cone sits in a goat leather surround. The coils need an external supply. As standard Voxativ provides the N1 linear unit delivering 12 V DC, and alternatives include the N2 battery supply at USD 12,900, based on an automotive-grade cell with an eight-hour charge, as well as a super-capacitor version and a valve-based one. Inside the cabinet there is only the driver, with no crossover components and no electronics of any kind. The enclosure follows the brand's Acoustic Stealth Technology, which controls internal resonances and suppresses reflections, and the tuning rests entirely on the mechanical match between the hand-made driver and the cabinet. The rear horn is what lets the design reach its deep bass extension.

Pairing

At the Munich launch the ANDAGIO was driven by the Voxativ T805 SET integrated amplifier, a pure class A design with 805 output tubes, a KT66 driver stage and an ECC83 input stage, priced at USD 34,900. With such high efficiency the speaker needs very little power, which is why Voxativ pairs it with single-ended triode designs of low output.

Alternatives

The Voxativ AMPEGGIO DUE uses the same field coil approach but folds its horn into a cabinet 120 cm wide and only 19 cm deep.
