The ALBERICH² Metal is a floorstanding loudspeaker from Voxativ, a Berlin company that builds its speakers around its own wide-band drivers. It belongs to the ALBERICH² family alongside the standard ALBERICH² System and the taller Array version, and differs from the standard model chiefly in its metal enclosure surfaces. Voxativ lists it from EUR 36,900, sold as speakers only.

Key specs that matter

A Voxativ AC-ZA bass module is combined in each speaker with a monitor section fitted with either the AF-2A or the AF-2B wide-band driver, chosen when ordering. The maker gives a frequency range of 20 Hz to 33,000 Hz and a maximum efficiency of 98 dB at 1 W and 1 m. Power handling is stated as 240 W sinus. The cabinet measures about 20 x 107 x 25 cm, and each speaker weighs about 82.5 kg. Three metal surface treatments are offered - industrial raw, polished, or powder coated in a range of colours.

Engineering and use context

The ALBERICH² concept pairs the Hagen² monitor with a dedicated bass module, and Voxativ describes the result as one unified two-way design instead of a hybrid of two separate systems. Voxativ states that the bass section stays fully analogue, without any digital correction. The wide-band driver in the upper box covers the range above the bass module without a separate tweeter, which is the core of the Voxativ approach. Efficiency across the ALBERICH² range starts at 93 dB depending on the driver fitted, and this Metal version reaches the top of that span. Lead times after payment are quoted at around two weeks for loudspeakers and field coil drivers. The metal build is what sets this model apart visually, and the choice between raw, polished and coloured finishes lets it be matched to a room rather than to a single standard colour.

Pairing

Voxativ notes that the ALBERICH² can be driven by amplifiers able to handle the complex load of a wide-band driver, and that a preamplifier output is needed to feed the woofer section. That makes an integrated amplifier with a pre-out, or a separate preamplifier and power amplifier, the practical choice. The high efficiency figure suits low-powered valve designs such as the brand's own T-211 amplifier with its pair of 211 tubes.

Alternatives

Voxativ's standard ALBERICH² System uses the same monitor and bass module layout in a Berlin Black finish, with a weight that depends on configuration.
