The Prestige One is the compact two-way model for stands in the Prestige series from Qln, a Swedish loudspeaker maker. Qln places the Prestige family in its Reference level, below the Signature and Master 7 at the top of its catalogue, alongside the larger Prestige Three and Prestige Five in their Gen 2 versions. Finish options are walnut in gloss or matte and a white satin lacquer.

Key specs that matter

A 177 mm woofer with a coated Kevlar cone covers the lower range, while a 25 mm textile dome tweeter surrounded by a large roll covers the top. Qln rates the tweeter as flat to above 30 kHz and designed it for wide dispersion off the main axis, which keeps the balance steadier for listeners seated away from the centre line. Low-frequency extension is 42 Hz at minus 3 dB. Sensitivity is 87.5 dB SPL at 1 W and 1 m into a nominal 8 ohm load, and the maker suggests amplifiers from 25 to 250 W RMS. Each cabinet measures 390 mm high, 265 mm wide and 372 mm deep and weighs 14.0 kg.

Engineering and use context

Both drivers use a copper ring in the magnet system, which gives the woofer a more symmetric drive and lowers intermodulation distortion in the midrange. The tweeter runs on an AirCirc magnet system. The cabinet is a truncated pyramid with a slanted front, which time-aligns woofer and tweeter, keeps the baffle area small to limit edge effects and reduces standing waves inside. The walls use a simplified version of the 22 mm Qboard panel, a viscoelastic layer bonded between two sheets of high-density fibreboard. The crossover follows Qln's constant impedance approach, tuned for a small two-way, and lower-loss coils on the woofer branch raise the maximum output. All capacitors are polypropylene, all inductors are air-core and baked so that the windings are glued together against vibration, and parts are fixed with soft glue damping. Internal wiring is pure copper, and a single pair of WBT nextgen terminals with silver-plated contacts takes the speaker cable.

Pairing

The steady load and the broad power window allow anything from a modest integrated amplifier to a large power amplifier, while the moderate sensitivity favours some reserve for larger rooms around 20 m2. Qln makes a matching Prestige Stand to bring the tweeter to ear height, and the single-wire terminals rule out bi-wiring.

Alternatives

The Qln Signature is the stand-mounted model at the top of the brand's range, sold with its own Signature Stand.
