The M145 is the more compact of two bookshelf speakers in Revel's Performa4 line, a range from the HARMAN Luxury Audio Group announced on April 2, 2026 and shown publicly at AXPONA in Chicago from April 10 to 12 of that year. Shipments started in April 2026. It is a passive two-way design sold in pairs at USD 1,999, which makes it the lowest-priced passive speaker of the Performa4 family, below the M146, the C245 centre and the F345 and F346 towers.
Key specs that matter
The woofer measures 130 mm and uses a Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC) cone, while the 25 mm tweeter has a dome of Deep Ceramic Composite (DCC). Revel hands over between them at 1.8 kHz. Frequency response is 54 Hz to 40 kHz within plus or minus 6 dB, sensitivity is 85 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, and nominal impedance is 6 ohms. Revel recommends amplifiers from 15 W to 150 W. Each cabinet is 294 mm high, 200 mm wide and 245 mm deep and weighs 6.8 kg, with the boxed pair at 18 kg. Two wood veneers are offered - Natural Walnut and Black Walnut.
Engineering and use context
Both ceramic composite materials were developed for this series, and Revel says they give the cones and domes more rigidity at lower mass than conventional alternatives. The woofer sits in a cast aluminium frame shaped with Finite Element Analysis to improve airflow and cooling, cut weight and control resonance, and the design is patented. It has an inverted surround and an integrated trim ring. The tweeter is set into version seven of the company's Acoustic Lens horn, whose job is to keep dispersion consistent across the listening area while raising efficiency and lowering distortion. The crossover uses air-core inductors in the tweeter circuit. The enclosure is internally cross-braced, has curved side panels and loads the woofer through a rear-mounted bass-reflex port. Foam plugs for that port come in the box, along with eight anti-slip pads and magnetically attached grilles that leave the front free of visible fixings. A single pair of 5-way crystal brass binding posts sits on the back.
Pairing
The moderate load and efficiency suit solid-state integrated amplifiers inside Revel's power window rather than very low-output designs. Because the port fires backwards, the foam plugs are useful when the speakers must stand close to a wall. Revel's MFS4 stands, built from extruded aluminium and steel with cable management and optional spikes, cost USD 699 per pair, and the B140 subwoofer with a 10 in driver and a 750 W RMS amplifier can add output below the M145's range.
Alternatives
The Revel M146 is the larger Performa4 stand-mount with a 6.5 in woofer and bass reaching down to 43 Hz.
