The Element 6 is a two-way passive speaker for stands, built by Stratton Acoustics, the British maker of the Elypsis 1512 and Element 12, and was unveiled at AXPONA 2025 together with the larger Element 8. It is intended for smaller rooms and nearfield listening, and every pair is handmade in the UK. Pricing stands at GBP 15,000, USD 20,000 or EUR 17,500 per pair for the speakers alone, with dedicated Element Stands sold separately at GBP 3,500, USD 5,000 or EUR 4,500.

Key specs that matter

This is a reflex-loaded passive design. A 160 mm (6-inch) woofer with a carbon fibre diaphragm works with a 29 mm soft dome tweeter, and a symmetrical third-order crossover divides them at 1.4 kHz. Stratton gives the range as 48 Hz to 20 kHz, with the -6 dB point at 42 Hz. Sensitivity is 87 dB for 2.83 V at 1 m, nominal impedance is 8 ohm, and the electrical phase stays within 55 degrees either way above 50 Hz. Group delay is under 14 ms. On its stand the speaker measures 360 mm wide, 1075 mm high and 360 mm deep and weighs 38.5 kg.

Engineering and use context

The tweeter is Stratton's own patented unit, decoupled from the baffle and loaded by a waveguide. The carcass is moulded from an acrylic-silica reinforced polymer matrix, a material the company chose for its inertness and suppression of resonance, and the front and rear baffles are CNC-cut from aluminium of aerospace grade. The port is flared and has two resistive vents, which Stratton designed to control pipe resonance and prevent port noise. Connections at the rear are custom bi-wire binding posts with gold plating, so the bass and treble sections can be fed separately. The stands are also precision-machined aluminium and act as decoupling supports. The listed finish, code E6WCG001, combines a white composite cabinet in high-gloss piano lacquer with chrome hardware, a gold waveguide and a chrome stand, with silver baffles.

Pairing

Stratton asks for at least 20 W into its nominal impedance from the driving amplifier. Thanks to the split terminals, owners can run two cables from a single amplifier or give the treble and bass sections an amplifier each. The optional aluminium Element Stands are made for this model and the Element 8, and the height and weight figures above already include one.

Alternatives

The Stratton Acoustics Element 8 uses the same enclosure concept and tweeter with a larger 200 mm carbon fibre bass and midrange driver.
