Announced on 18 September 2025, the SOUNDPEATS H3 is a wireless earbud built around a hybrid triple-driver layout. It targets listeners who want wired-style multi-driver construction in a wireless earbud and sells for USD 129.99 on the maker's store, reduced from USD 149.99.
Key specs that matter
Each earpiece holds two balanced armature drivers together with a 12 mm composite dynamic driver. The Qualcomm QCC3091 chip with Snapdragon Sound runs Bluetooth 5.4 and handles SBC, AAC and LDAC plus aptX in its standard, Adaptive and Lossless versions, with LDAC disabled at the factory setting. Hybrid ANC reduces noise by up to 55 dB and provides four modes named Adaptive, Indoor, Outdoor and Traffic. Playback reaches 7 hours per charge and 37 hours with the case. A single earbud weighs 6 g, and the filled case comes to 53 g.
Engineering and use context
In total six microphones serve both the noise cancelling system and voice calls, and the case charges through USB-C. On each side two external microphones use beamforming, joined by an internal microphone, and voice pickup is processed by AI noise reduction and the cVc 8.0 algorithm. Battery cells are 35 mAh per earbud and 400 mAh in the case. A full refill takes about 1 hour for the earbuds and 2 hours for the case, while a 10 minute charge gives 2 hours of use. The housings are tinted and partly see-through with metallic accents on the outer shells, the nozzles are anodised aluminium, five ear tip sizes are included, and the IPX5 rating covers water resistance. An ambient pass-through setting is also provided. A game mode brings latency down to 60 ms, and the rollout at launch was global rather than limited to one region. Dual-device connectivity is available, but it cannot run at the same time as LDAC, so users choose between the high-rate codec and a second linked source. The PeatsAudio app provides a 9-band equaliser and an adaptive EQ function.
Pairing
Android phones with Snapdragon Sound platforms can use aptX Lossless or aptX Adaptive, and other Android handsets with LDAC can use that codec once it is enabled in the app. Apple devices connect through AAC, and older computers use SBC.
Alternatives
The SOUNDPEATS Air5 Pro+ is a same-priced true wireless model that pairs an xMEMS solid-state driver with a 10 mm dynamic unit and also uses the QCC3091 chip.
