The Clip1 is an open-ear wireless model from SOUNDPEATS that hooks over the edge of the ear and leaves the canal unblocked. The design keeps the ear open to surroundings and, according to the maker, stays compatible with glasses, masks and helmets. It was announced on 12 November 2025 at a launch price of USD 69.99, with a European price of EUR 75.99, and is now listed at USD 89.99 in black, titanium black and beige.
Key specs that matter
Every earpiece is built around a 12 mm dual-magnet dynamic driver with a PU diaphragm finished in a titanium PVD coating. A BES2710 chip runs Bluetooth 5.4 with the HSP, HFP, A2DP and AVRCP profiles, and the supported codecs are SBC, AAC and LDAC, the last reaching up to 990 kbps and 96 kHz with 24-bit resolution for Hi-Res Audio. Dolby Audio processing is also supported, and a drop detection function has been announced as a later addition. Each earbud weighs 5 g and the housings are rated IPX5 against water.
Engineering and use context
The two earbuds hold 45 mAh cells and the case holds 450 mAh. SOUNDPEATS quotes up to 8 hours per charge at 60 percent volume over AAC and about 40 hours in total with the case in launch material, while the product page lists a combined 30 hours. In LDAC mode the single-charge figure drops to about 4 hours. Charging over USB-C takes roughly 1 hour for the earbuds and 2 hours for the case. The flexible bridge that joins the speaker body to the rear pod is an N-Flex Arch memory wire made of 0.6 mm nickel-titanium alloy. An AutoSense function detects which ear each bud sits in, so the left and right pieces are interchangeable, and smart wear detection pauses playback when a bud is removed. Controls use three touch zones, a low latency game mode is available, and a 10 minute charge gives 2 hours of listening. AeroVoice processing reduces wind noise in calls, and AI environmental noise cancellation is applied to the microphones. DynamicEQ Pro adjusts frequency balance in real time as volume changes.
Pairing
LDAC at its full rate requires an Android source that supports the codec, while iPhones connect over AAC. Dual device connection keeps two sources such as a phone and a computer linked together and is switched on in the PeatsAudio app, which also provides equaliser presets and firmware updates.
Alternatives
The SOUNDPEATS Air5 Pro+ is an in-canal wireless alternative with a sealed fit, pairing an xMEMS driver and a 10 mm dynamic driver with active noise cancelling.
