Wadax is a Madrid-based Spanish maker of digital source components, founded by engineer Javier Guadalajara and built around a proprietary error-correction chip called musIC. Its first product, the Pre1 Phono, appeared in 2011, and the brand now concentrates on DACs, transports, servers and power supplies for the top tier of digital playback. The company works from a 900 m2 site in the city's diplomatic district that houses R&D labs and a 180 m2 showroom.

The Reference Collection groups the Reference DAC, Reference Transport, Reference Server and Reference PSU, together with the Akasa DC Reference cable that links the supply to the other units. The Atlantis line, first shown in 2017 with a DAC, server and transport, was the origin of this series, and the Atlantis Reference DAC followed in 2019 with the server in 2020. The more compact Studio Player Collection pairs the Studio Player, an all-in-one DAC, streamer and disc player, with a matching Studio PSU. Every Wadax design is built around musIC, a feed-forward, load-sensitive error-correction circuit for digital electronics. Six years of development led to the first chip in 2010, and musIC 2 arrived in 2016.

Wadax is a private Spanish company led by its founder. Its roots go back to his father, Angel Guadalajara, an engineer trained in acoustics, electronics and signal processing who distributed high-end audio equipment in Spain from the late 1950s and developed a set of core acoustic and signal-processing technologies between 1958 and 1988. Javier began moving that analogue work into the digital domain in 1997. Design and engineering stay in Madrid, while production is handed to certified suppliers that serve aerospace and military sectors.
