Vestlyd is a Danish loudspeaker and turntable brand launched in 2021 and engineered on the west coast of Denmark. The name joins the Danish words for west (vest) and sound (lyd). It was created around the idea of old-school monitor-type speakers that put high playback levels and a live-concert feeling ahead of styling, and it sells mostly direct to buyers across Europe with a 30-day home trial.
Range & what it's known for
The range is compact. Passive stand-mounts come as the V12C, pitched at normal living rooms, and the larger V15C. The active side holds the M6C Active and M8C Active, joined by the battery-powered Stage A4 portable speaker. Dedicated low stands exist for the V12C and V15C, and M-Stands suit both active models. Two direct-drive turntables complete the offer. The PRO T2 uses a quartz-controlled brushless DC motor with three speeds (33, 45 and 78 rpm), an S-shaped aluminium arm with an Ortofon VNL pickup, a built-in JFET RIAA phono stage, pitch control and needle illumination. The passive speakers are described by the maker as easy to drive, so even an older amplifier can run them.
Who owns it and where it's made
Vestlyd belongs to the Nordic Hi-Fi family, and all design and engineering takes place in Denmark. The team behind it cites more than 20 years of experience in making audio products and a close working relationship with the Danish audio retail chain HiFi Klubben, whose feedback and staff of more than 600 audio specialists shaped the products. Every Vestlyd product carries a 3-year warranty.
The lineup in this catalog
Six models are listed here - the M8C Active floorstander, the M6C Active stand-mount, the passive V12C and V15C, and the PRO T1 and PRO T2 turntables. Current maker prices start at EUR 369 for the PRO T1 to EUR 1,898 per pair for the V15C.
Who it's for
Vestlyd fits listeners who play music loud and want a speaker built for that use without paying for elaborate cabinetry. A turntable newcomer or DJ can start with the PRO T1 and step up to the PRO T2 with its higher-torque drive. Speaker buyers choose between the V12C for an average room or the V15C for more scale, while those without an amplifier go straight to the M6C Active or M8C Active.
