Unison Research is an Italian maker of valve and hybrid amplifiers, founded in 1987 by Giovanni Maria Sacchetti near Treviso. Its early Triode 20 and Simply Two integrated amplifiers made the name abroad, and valve amplification is still the centre of the range.

Pure valve designs include the Simply series (Simply Italy, Simply 845), the Triode 20 and Triode 25, the Absolute 845, plus the Sinfonia and Performance models. The Unico line uses a hybrid layout with a valve stage ahead of a transistor output, and the company recently launched a new Unico generation. Wooden fronts and visible tubes are a recurring part of the industrial design, and the amplifiers are hand-built in Italian workshops. The current website files products under Valves, the Unico line and a separate section for discontinued models.
Who owns it and where it's made
Sacchetti, an electronics graduate, taught for 25 years while designing every early Unison product. In 2000 Unison Research and the loudspeaker maker Opera moved into the same building and joined under the A.R.I.A. (Advanced Research in Audio) umbrella. Opera founder Giovanni Nasta later led the group, and after his death his sons Bartolomeo and Ricardo took over, with Sacchetti staying as an advisor. Sacchetti was born in 1945. Opera, founded by Nasta in Preganziol in 1989, builds its speaker cabinets in-house and makes the Linea Classica, the Callas series with the Grand Callas, and the Prima and Quinta models. Both brands are made at via Barone in Dosson di Casier, just outside Treviso.
