Founded in 1980 by Renaud de Vergnette, Triangle is a French loudspeaker company based in Soissons, in the Aisne department of northern France. The brand produces passive hi-fi speakers, active and Bluetooth models, wireless multiroom units, architectural speakers and turntables, and it assembles its own drivers in house. Its range runs from compact bookshelf pairs to large floorstanding models for dedicated listening rooms.
Range & what it's known for
The current range is organised in series. Borea is the entry line, with the Borea Active BR03 BT as a Bluetooth bookshelf version, and Esprit Ez covers the middle ground with models such as Titus Ez. Further up sit large floorstanders and bookshelf speakers such as Zerius 902, Sextan 902, Talès 340 and Thétis 340, while Magellan and Signature have been the upper series. The Active Series LN01A is a powered bookshelf speaker offered in many colours, AIO 3 is a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth multiroom speaker, and Secret models such as ICT8 and LCR7 are built for in-wall and in-ceiling use. Triangle also sells its own vinyl turntable and speaker stands.
Who owns it and where it's made
Triangle is an independent French company. De Vergnette started it in Paris before the move to Soissons in Picardie, where design and assembly now take place. The factory has a dedicated workshop where drivers are assembled almost entirely by hand, and separate spaces for compact speakers and floorstanding columns. A design office led by Sébastien Miquel uses Klippel measurement systems and an anechoic chamber, and every driver and finished cabinet goes through measurement checks before shipping.
The lineup in this catalog
Loudspeakers, with a small Borea bookshelf pair at roughly EUR 300 and the largest floorstanders well over EUR 20,000.
Who it's for
Triangle speakers are designed and assembled in France, from a first Borea pair for a small room up to large floorstanders for a dedicated space. The active LN01A and multiroom AIO 3 serve listeners who want a system without a separate amplifier, and the Secret models suit custom installations. Upgrading within the brand usually means stepping from Borea to Esprit Ez and then to the larger passive series.
