Staccato Audio

Website:https://staccatoaudio.com/

Staccato Audio is a small Polish high-end audio company based in Szczecin, run by designer and owner Jakub Honkisz. It started with discrete operational amplifiers for upgrading existing equipment and has since moved on to complete electronics, with the Black Unique BU-01 integrated amplifier as its main product. The company says it intends to stay small and add a new component of a complete system every year.

Range & what it's known for

The range has two parts. The first is the OSH (Open Sound Hybrid) family of discrete op-amp modules in single and dual versions, with vertical and horizontal layouts for different boards. The second is the BU-01, a dual-mono integrated amplifier that runs in pure Class A with a single-ended output stage. The maker highlights triple electromagnetic shielding around the transformer and the removal of internal wiring in favour of board routing with a distributed ground. Mono block power amplifiers have also been announced on the company site.

Who owns it and where it's made

Staccato Audio is privately owned by Jakub Honkisz, who designs the circuits and lays out the PCBs himself. The BU-01 is assembled by hand in Poland, and its transformer is enclosed in Italian-made ferrite plates.

The lineup in this catalog

The catalog lists one Staccato Audio integrated amplifier, the BU-01, rated at 300W in Class A, with six line inputs, a pre-out and no phono stage.

Who it's for

The BU-01 fits owners of a turntable-free or external-phono system who want a single high-power Class A integrated with plenty of line inputs. DIY-minded owners of other equipment can start smaller with an OSH op-amp module.
