Sonoro is a German audio company from Neuss on the Lower Rhine, founded in 2006 by Marcell Faller. It designs compact music systems, hi-fi receivers and loudspeakers under the tagline German Audio Design, and employs about 60 people. Its products pair wooden enclosures and piano lacquer finishes with streaming, CD and multiroom features.
Range & what it's known for
The hi-fi side is built around the Maestro receiver, an internet and CD receiver rated at 2x 170 watts into 4 ohms, with the Orchestra bookshelf speakers and Grand Orchestra floorstanders as partners. The Meisterstück Gen.2 is an all-in-one two-way stereo system with AirPlay, Google Cast, CD and room calibration. Compact systems such as Atron and Avaton, the portable Escape P9 and TV sound products complete the catalogue. Many models are tailored to particular rooms, from bathroom units with waterproof remotes to bedroom systems with built-in relaxation content.
Who owns it and where it's made
Sonoro audio GmbH is a private company led from its Neuss base, where products are designed and developed in a clean, Bauhaus-influenced style. It sells directly online and serves customers worldwide.
The lineup in this catalog
Bookshelf loudspeakers including the Orchestra, Orchestra Gen.2, Orchestra Slim and Orchestra Slim Gen.2, and floorstanders including the Grand Orchestra and Orchestra Shaped Signature. The Orchestra Gen.2 reaches 39Hz to 32kHz.
Who it's for
Sonoro builds streaming-ready hi-fi for the living room, where the equipment has to look at home. A Meisterstück or compact system is the simpler way in, while a Maestro receiver with Orchestra or Grand Orchestra speakers moves to separates.
