Lindemann is a German maker of streamers, DACs, amplifiers and CD-based systems led by its founder and designer Norbert Lindemann. The company says it has been developing audio systems in Germany for more than 35 years, and its current range is built around network playback with a deliberately short feature list.
Range & what it's known for
Products sit in three series. Limetree is the compact, lowest-priced line, with the PHONO II stage, the USB-DAC and the BRIDGE and NETWORK streamers. Woodnote covers the SOLO streamer with DAC, the COMBO streaming amplifier, the BRIDGE streaming transport without a DAC and the upcoming FONO phono stage, which uses a J-FET input, a passive RIAA network and an A/D converter for MM and MC cartridges. Musicbook combines CD playback, streaming and amplification in the SOURCE II, POWER II and COMBO. Woodnote models resample to DSD, and all current streamers support Qobuz Connect and Spotify Lossless through firmware. Matching loudspeakers and the GROOVE, MOVE and MOVE mini products complete the range.
Who owns it and where it's made
Lindemann Audiotechnik is an independent company tied to its founder, who still presents products at shows himself. The firm states that its products are precision made in Germany and sells them through its own shop and authorised partners.
The lineup in this catalog
Amplifiers, DACs and accessories. The listed models cost between about EUR 500 and EUR 5,000.
Who it's for
The brand answers the need for a compact streaming source or an all-in-one streaming amplifier with an app and current services built in. A Limetree streamer or DAC costs least, Woodnote or Musicbook come next, and the Musicbook COMBO is the version for those who still play CDs.
