Klipsch is a loudspeaker company from the United States, founded in 1946 in Hope, Arkansas, by Paul W. Klipsch, who started the business as Klipsch and Associates to build his corner horn design. Now headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, the company still bases its identity on horn-loaded speakers and runs ranges from computer speakers and headphones to large hand-built floorstanders.

Range & what it's known for

The Heritage line is the core of the brand's reputation. It comprises the Klipschorn, La Scala II, Cornwall IV, Forte IV and Heresy IV, large high-efficiency designs with horn-loaded midrange and treble. The Klipschorn uses the corners of the room as an extension of its bass horn, reaching down to about 35 Hz, and produces 105 dB at one metre from a single watt, which lets it run from very low-powered amplifiers. Below the Heritage models sit the Palladium range, the Reference and Reference Premier families, the Icon series and Synergy, while THX Ultra II models serve dedicated home cinemas. ProMedia computer speakers have been in the range since 1999, and the company also builds over-ear and in-ear headphones.

Who owns it and where it's made

Klipsch was acquired by Audiovox on March 1, 2011, and became a subsidiary of Voxx International. On April 1, 2025, Gentex Corporation completed its purchase of Voxx, so Klipsch now belongs to Gentex through its Premium Audio Company division, alongside the Onkyo and Integra brands. The Klipschorn has been built at the Hope, Arkansas plant continuously since 1946, the longest production run of any loudspeaker, and the Heritage models carry on that domestic manufacturing link.

The lineup in this catalog

Speakers of several types plus headphones, with prices that begin at about USD 300 for bookshelf models and climb past USD 15,000 for the Klipschorn.

Who it's for

Klipsch is the obvious choice where high sensitivity matters, whether to drive speakers from a small tube or low-power amplifier or to reach high levels in a home cinema without heavy amplification. Reference and Synergy models are the usual entry point, Reference Premier and Icon add more refined cabinets, and Palladium leads toward the Heritage range. Owners who have a suitable room corner and want a speaker built in the same factory since the 1940s can step up to the Cornwall, La Scala or Klipschorn.
