Fezz Audio is a Polish maker of valve amplifiers from the Podlasie region in north-eastern Poland, run as an offshoot of Toroidy, a toroidal transformer business that Lech Lachowski founded in 1991. The brand showed its first amplifier, the Silver Luna, at the Audio Video Show in Warsaw in November 2015 and sold the whole first batch of 16 units there. Toroidy started with two employees and a home-built winding machine and now employs more than 40 people.
Range & what it's known for
The defining trait is the use of toroidal output transformers, wound in the family factory, in tube amplifiers where conventional EI-core transformers are the norm. The Lachowski brothers developed such a transformer for valve use and built complete amplifiers around it. The Silver Luna and its Prestige version are EL34 integrated amplifiers rated at 2 x 35 W, while the Mira Ceti models are single-ended 300B designs, offered both as integrated amplifiers and as mono power amplifiers. Further integrated and power amplifiers include Lybra and Titania, and the current Evolution generation covers the main models. Gaia and Gaia Prestige phono stages, preamplifiers and an Equinox DAC developed with Lampizator complete the catalog.
Who owns it and where it's made
Fezz Audio belongs to the Lachowski family alongside the Toroidy transformer works. Design and production stay in north-east Poland, where a team of over 40 production staff assembles and checks every amplifier by hand, using transformers made in-house. The exterior styling was developed with two outside industrial designers.
The lineup in this catalog
Tube amplifiers, costing between about EUR 1,500 and EUR 4,500.
Who it's for
A hand-built valve amplifier at a moderate price, with transformers wound by the same family, is what Fezz Audio offers. Silver Luna is the usual first step with EL34 push-pull power, Mira Ceti is aimed at efficient loudspeakers and a single-ended 300B circuit, and the mono power amplifiers and phono stages let a system grow within the brand.
