The special feature of the AE500 is in the speakers: they use carbon fiber instead of the usual ceramic—coated aluminum for AE, both in midrange/woofers and tweeters. The tweeters, as is customary with AE, are slightly recessed into the branded sound ducts, and the midrange and bass speakers have enlarged coils.
