The Ayre AX-5 Twenty is a fully discrete, balanced integrated amplifier. A large amount of proprietary know-how was invested by the American company Ayre in the development of this amplifier: a Diamond-type dual output stage, EquiLock proprietary circuitry, a silver Shallco contact switch for gain control, Variable Gain Technology (VGT), the technology used in the award-winning KX-R preamp.

The Ayre EX-8 is an all-in-one device: an amplifier, a DAC, a network player, and a headphone amplifier. The Ayre PX-8 Phono Preamplifier has two separate analog inputs with balanced and unbalanced connections and allows you to change gain and load settings from the front panel.

The model uses Volume control technology — Variable Gain Transconductance (VGT), the same as in the top-end KX-R amplifier, but in a simplified and cheaper version.

The Ayre QA-9 Pro is an analog-to-digital converter from Ayre Acoustics. The model has a digital output with a resolution of up to 24 bit/192 kHz and Word Clock and DSD outputs.

For the release of the new flagship DAC, Ayre entered into a partnership agreement with ESS Technologies and used the company's new ES9038PRO chip in the QX-5. This chip, created by ESS, sets new quality standards in terms of linearity of performance and dynamic range width.
