Aavik is a Danish high-end electronics brand based in Aalborg, part of Audio Group Denmark alongside sister brands Ansuz and Borresen Acoustics. It was co-founded by cable industry veteran Lars Kristensen, who spent two decades as worldwide sales manager at Nordost before starting his own ventures, and engineer Michael Borresen, whose innovative approach to noise reduction and resonance control underpins all three Audio Group Denmark brands. The two men first collaborated more than two decades ago and share a common engineering philosophy that has evolved through years of joint development work.

Aavik builds integrated and power amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, phono stages and streamers, all constructed around active Tesla-coil noise-cancellation technology and analog dither circuits borrowed directly from sister brand Ansuz. The lineup spans the accessible U-series all-in-one streamer/DAC/amplifier units up to the reference 880-series Class A monoblocks, whose most distinctive engineering trait is remaining in pure Class A operation regardless of how hard the amplifier is loaded or driven, reducing the need for inductive output filtering that Aavik says compromises sound quality in conventional Class A/B designs. Flemming Erik Rasmussen, the industrial designer behind Gryphon Audio's visual identity, has also contributed aesthetic direction to newer Aavik products.
