The Stylo is a record player with belt drive from the British brand Majority, introduced in the UK together with the Folio at a price of GBP 159. The company describes it as a just-add-speakers design, meant to be connected to powered speakers or an amplifier rather than playing on its own. It reached UK buyers in time for Record Store Day 2025, while US pricing and availability were not announced at launch. Five colours are listed - Blackout, Sol Yellow, British Racing Green, Blue Steel and Oxblood.
Key specs that matter
Two speeds are provided, 33 and 45 rpm, and a pitch control shifts playback speed by up to 10 percent in either direction. The deck takes 7, 8, 10 and 12 inch records. An Audio-Technica AT3600L moving magnet cartridge is fitted from the factory and uses a replaceable stylus. It is carried by a straight carbon fibre tonearm with an adjustable counterweight, anti-skate adjustment and a cueing lever, and the platter is aluminium. The Stylo measures 426 x 332 x 131 mm and weighs 4.6 kg. Power comes from an external 12 V, 0.2 A adaptor with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel jack that accepts 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, and consumption is listed at 2.4 W.
Engineering and use context
A phono preamplifier is built into the chassis, and the owner can switch between line and phono modes, so the RCA outputs feed either a line-level input or an amplifier that already has its own phono stage. A third mode sends the signal out over Bluetooth 5.3, with a stated range under 10 metres, to wireless speakers or headphones. The three output modes are labelled Line Out, Phono and Bluetooth Out in the manual, and the belt is fitted by the owner around the platter during unpacking. The plinth is wood-based, and the manufacturer has limited the user adjustments to tracking force, anti-skating and pitch to keep setup simple for newcomers to vinyl. The package includes a dust cover, the platter and belt, a felt mat, RCA cables, a ground connector, a 45 rpm adaptor and the power adaptor.
Pairing
With the internal preamp set to line mode, the Stylo connects straight to active speakers or to any amplifier input such as AUX or CD. Owners who already run a separate phono stage can select phono mode and bypass the internal stage, and those without cables in place can send the output to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones instead.
Alternatives
The Majority Folio is the brand's related belt-drive turntable with built-in stereo speakers, USB recording and an S-shaped tonearm carrying the same Audio-Technica cartridge.
