The Victrola Soundstage is a powered speaker base designed to sit directly under a turntable, introduced by Victrola at CES in January 2026 and released in summer 2026. It was announced at USD 350, and Victrola now lists it at USD 329.99 in Walnut or Black. It is not a record player, since it has no platter, tonearm or cartridge, and instead supplies the amplification and speakers for a turntable placed on top. Victrola sells it in a bundle with its Wave turntable for USD 729.98 and names the Wave and its Automatic turntables as matching partners.

Key specs that matter

The unit measures about 430 x 384 x 89 mm and weighs 4.2 kg. Frequency response is 50 Hz to 20 kHz. The driver impedance is listed as 8 ohm x 2 plus 4 ohm, meaning two channels for the upper range and a separate bass section. Wired inputs are RCA, USB-C and optical, with Bluetooth 6.0 using A2DP 1.4 and AVRCP 1.6.3 and an Auracast receiver. Outputs are a subwoofer connection and an Auracast broadcast. The USB port plays MP3 and WAV files from FAT32 drives of up to 64 GB and supplies 5 V at 500 mA. Power supply is 100 to 240 V at 50 or 60 Hz, consumption is 30 W, and standby draw is under 0.5 W. Operating temperature is 0 to 45 C.

Engineering and use context

Putting speakers beneath a turntable normally risks feeding vibration back to the stylus, and Victrola addresses this in two ways. The bass comes from a down-firing Symmetric Drive Woofer with two opposing diaphragms, so their mechanical forces cancel and less vibration reaches the cabinet top. Sound is also directed downwards and away from the deck above. Mid and high frequencies come from front-facing Balanced Mode Radiators, flat panel drivers that spread output widely. A remote in the box adjusts volume, bass and treble, and a display hidden behind the front grille confirms each change. An RCA cable, power cord and two AAA batteries are included. The Auracast transmitter can send audio to other Auracast speakers, and the subwoofer output allows a separate bass unit to be added.

Pairing

There is no phono stage, so the turntable on top must have one built in, as the Wave does, or be connected through an external phono preamplifier into the RCA input. The optical input also suits a television.

Alternatives

The Victrola Tempo is a powered Bluetooth bookshelf speaker pair rated at 80 W RMS with RCA, optical, 3.5 mm and USB-C inputs and a subwoofer output.
