The Master Jubilee is a limited turntable that Clearaudio of Erlangen built to mark its 45th anniversary, with production capped at 45 units worldwide. It takes the concept of the Reference Jubilee and adds a raised chassis and a free-standing motor unit, which also frees room for a second tonearm. In the US it was launched in 2024 as a complete package at USD 60,000, including the Unity 10-inch tonearm, the Professional Power 24V linear power supply, a Statement record clamp and an Outer Limit peripheral ring clamp.

Key specs that matter

Supported speeds are 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm, with a wow and flutter figure under 0.05 percent in either direction. The main chassis weighs about 33 kg without tonearm and power supply, and the separate motor unit adds roughly 4.6 kg. With the tonearm base fitted but no arm, the chassis occupies about 495 mm in width, 426.5 mm in depth and 242.5 mm in height. Maximum power consumption is 8.64 W, falling to 2.4 W in operation and 1.4 W when switched off. The platter consists of 70 mm of high-density technical polymer, listed as POM, above a 15 mm CNC-turned solid stainless steel sub-platter. The warranty period is five years, provided the card reaches Clearaudio within 14 days.

Engineering and use context

Structurally, the plinth is a double sandwich of laminated wood and aluminium with a curved Panzerholz body, laid out to a resonance-optimised geometry. An extra mass plate below the actual platter pushes the total turntable weight past 30 kg, aimed at smooth and constant rotation. Rotation is carried by an inverted, ground and polished ceramic spindle in a sintered bronze bushing, supported by the patented CMB magnetic bearing. In the external tower, a DC motor running from a regulated 24 volt supply hangs in the IMS Innovative Motor Suspension, a counter-rotating mount with 18 O-rings that keeps motor vibration away from the plinth. Motor control is a hybrid, where a 12-bit DAC generates a reference voltage for a purely analogue regulator, and an optical OSC sensor monitors speed. Calibration runs fully automatically at the touch of a button and compensates for friction and temperature changes in the bearing and belt.

Pairing

As delivered, the package already includes the magnetically stabilised Unity arm, so the main choice left is the cartridge and phono stage, and the second arm position allows a further tonearm to run alongside it. The heavy chassis and separate motor unit need a rigid support with space for both parts.
