The RS350 is an all-in-one media player from HiFi Rose, the audio brand of Citech Co., Ltd in Seoul, South Korea. Rather than a separate network streamer, it combines streaming, amplification, a 3-way speaker system and a touchscreen in one small tabletop box. It sits beside the RS301 as one of two all-in-one models in the range. The US price was USD 350, and the brand has since stopped selling it outside South Korea.
Key specs that matter
Total maximum output is 20 W. Each channel carries a 20 mm dome tweeter rated at 8 ohm and 10 W with a sensitivity of 93 dB plus or minus 3 dB, plus a 66 mm midrange rated at 8 ohm and 10 W, while bass comes from a dual passive radiator module. The 12.7 cm wide-view multi-touch screen runs Android 5.0. Wireless links cover Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, AirPlay, DLNA and DIAL. Audio codecs listed are MPEG-1 Layer 1, 2 and 3, WMA, FLAC, APE and WAV, and video playback handles MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.263, H.264, H.265 and VC-1. The cabinet measures 364 x 110 x 120 mm and weighs 1.5 kg.
Engineering and use context
HiFi Rose applied a high-speed gate driver technique and a combined feedback design to the built-in amplifier, and the dual passive radiator duct module is covered by the company's patents. Touch buttons on the top plate handle power, volume and mute, and a screen-off mode lets the display go dark. Local files play from one USB 2.0 Type-A port or a microSD slot, and a micro USB port is reserved for service. Services include TIDAL, internet radio with channel editing, the in-house ROSE Podcast app and RoseTube for YouTube without ads, and the screen can show a clock, alarm, temperature, wind speed, fine dust and weather data. Firmware updates arrive over the internet or by USB. An external adapter converts 100-240 V mains to 12 V DC at 2 A, and front feet tilt the white housing upward on a desk or shelf.
Pairing
No line or speaker outputs are listed, so the RS350 works as a closed system rather than a source for an external amplifier. A 3.5 mm headphone jack at the rear takes personal listening, phones and tablets connect over AirPlay or Bluetooth, and a PC or NAS on the same network can feed it through DLNA. Control is by the bundled IR remote or the ROSE Connect app for Android and iOS.
Alternatives
The HiFi Rose RS301 is the other all-in-one player in the range, with a 50 W maximum output, an aluminium case of 360 x 110 x 108 mm and native DSD256 playback.
