The DSAS, short for Digital Sharing Audio Server, is the first music server from the French high-end maker Métronome. It was developed together with the software company Audirvāna and presented at High End Munich 2025, with a European price of EUR 5,990. The unit belongs to the Digital Sharing family, a four-box range that also includes the DST CD transport, the DSC mini DAC and the DSS 2 network player, and Métronome spent about two years building that family. The server gathers a local file library and online streaming in one compact box, but it has no digital-to-analogue stage of its own.

Key specs that matter

Storage starts with a 2 TB SSD inside, and one free slot allows expansion to 4 TB. Further drives attach through USB 3.0 ports in Type-A and Type-C form. Over the USB link to a DAC the server sends PCM from 44.1 to 384 kHz at 32 bit and native DSD from DSD64 to DSD512, and the same resolutions are available over Ethernet or Wi-Fi to UPnP renderers. Chromecast output is also offered. The network side has one gigabit Ethernet port and dual-band Wi-Fi at 2.4 and 5 GHz. The case measures 250 x 70 x 250 mm, weighs 4.8 kg and draws 21 W.

Engineering and use context

Every Digital Sharing model shares the same square footprint, so the boxes can be stacked or combined in whatever order a system requires. The enclosures use solid steel with machined aluminium parts and come in silver or black. Audirvāna runs on the server itself, and each unit ships with a three-year Audirvāna Studio subscription plus a perpetual Audirvāna Origin licence, so the player stays usable once the subscription ends. The software streams Qobuz, Tidal, HIGHRESAUDIO and Presto Music, plays internet radio and mixes local and streamed tracks in shared playlists. Its signal tools include upsampling to DSD256, a 10-band parametric equaliser, convolution, a crossfeed function and a balance control. Control comes from the Audirvāna remote app for iOS and Android rather than front-panel buttons. Métronome rates the unit for ambient temperatures from 5 to 35 degrees C and humidity between 5 and 90 percent.

Pairing

As a pure digital source, the DSAS always needs a converter downstream. The obvious partner is the DSC mini from the same range, fed over USB, while any DAC able to accept DSD512 over USB can use the full format range. Owners who prefer a networked endpoint can send music over UPnP to a streamer such as the DSS 2, or to a Chromecast device elsewhere in the home.

Alternatives

Métronome currently offers no other music server or PC-based product besides the DSAS in this category.
