The LōKē is the smallest subwoofer made by Wilson Audio, introduced in 2022 and built by the same craftspeople in the United States who assemble the company's full-size loudspeakers. Wilson describes it as an all-in-one subwoofer that is simple to set up and manage, developed under the parameters laid down by founder David Wilson. The US price was USD 8,750 in standard colours and USD 9,750 in the dearest finishes, and UK prices ran from GBP 8,998 to GBP 10,998 depending on the colour tier.

Key specs that matter

A single 10 inch woofer faces forward and works with a slotted port on the front baffle. The built-in amplifier delivers 500 W into 4 ohm, and Wilson rates the frequency range at 20 Hz to 250 Hz within 1 dB. THD plus noise reaches 1 percent at full rated power at 100 Hz, while noise sits 98.4 dB below the signal at maximum volume, A-weighted. With the input switch set to Hi, both RCA and XLR inputs accept more than 2 V before saturation. The cabinet is 52.71 cm high and 35.24 cm wide, with a depth of 55.24 cm including the grille, and it weighs 49.9 kg, while the shipping weight is around 79 kg.

Engineering and use context

The electronics carry the most used functions of Wilson's ActivXO Dual Subwoofer Crossover, namely crossover frequency, crossover slope, phase and level. The low-pass and high-pass filters can each be set between 30 Hz and 125 Hz, phase moves from 0 to 180 degrees, and a subsonic filter is included. Settings can be stored as three user presets, and the unit can run in auto or always-on power mode. Besides the front panel, the controls are reachable through a USB connection and PC software. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connections are provided as both inputs and outputs, so the signal can be passed on to the main amplifier. For the external enclosure Wilson uses its heavily damped X-Material, and the internal bracing combines X-Material with HDF. The compact format suits smaller rooms and desk-based systems where a large floor-standing subwoofer would not fit, and finishes follow the WilsonGloss scheme in standard, upgrade and pearl colour groups.

Pairing

Wilson names the TuneTot, SabrinaX, Yvette and Sasha DAW, together with their predecessors, as the loudspeakers the LōKē was designed to complement, and the TuneTot is presented as its most natural partner. The adjustable high-pass filter lets the main speakers be relieved of the deepest bass when the subwoofer outputs feed the power amplifier.
