Harman's specification sheet for the model dates from 2020 and describes it simply as a 1000 W powered subwoofer with a 300 mm driver. Three finishes are offered - automotive-grade high-gloss black paint and furniture-grade satin veneers in walnut or gray oak.

JBL fits a 1,000 W RMS Class D amplifier driving a single 300 mm woofer with a black Poly-plas cone, a cast frame and a 76 mm voice coil. The quoted frequency response is 28 Hz to 150 Hz at the -6 dB points. A variable low-pass filter covers 50 Hz to 150 Hz with a 24 dB per octave slope, and a phase switch sits next to it. The enclosure measures 430.5 mm high, 414 mm wide and 451.3 mm deep, and it weighs 31.79 kg without packaging. Engineering and use context

This enclosure uses bass-reflex loading, and its ports fire downward rather than through the front baffle or rear panel. Both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA line inputs are fitted, rated at 0 dBV nominal with a maximum of +12 dBV unbalanced and +18 dBV balanced, and the XLR connector is wired pin 2 hot. A three-position power mode switch offers Auto, On and Trigger. Auto mode keeps the unit in standby until music or a soundtrack is present, then powers it down again after about 10 minutes with no input. In Trigger mode it follows a 5 V to 12 V control voltage at its trigger input, and a 12 V trigger output lets one HDI-1200P switch on a second one or another triggerable device. The box also holds a combination LFE and trigger cable with a 3.5 mm plug and a set of carpet spikes, plus a grille that the owner attaches.

The XLR input makes the subwoofer a straightforward match for AV processors and stereo preamplifiers with balanced outputs, while the RCA pair suits receivers that offer only a single-ended LFE connection. If the surround processor upstream already low-passes its subwoofer feed, the built-in low-pass control can be turned to its highest setting so that only one crossover acts on the signal. The three finishes make it easy to match wood-veneered or black main speakers, and the trigger chain lets two units start together from one processor.
