The R35 is the smaller of the pair of tower models in the Radia speaker family by Arcam, the HARMAN-owned company from Britain. Arcam says the model brings the engineering of the Radia range into a smaller tower suited to lounges and sitting rooms. The series was shown at ISE 2026 in Barcelona, marking the return of the brand to loudspeakers, and shops were due to receive stock from Q2 2026. The R35 is priced at GBP 1,999 or EUR 2,500 per speaker, so a pair costs double.

Key specs that matter

Five drivers share a three-way crossover. Three 130 mm Micro Ceramic Composite cones handle bass, a 130 mm Deep Ceramic Composite cone covers the midrange, and a 25 mm DCC aluminium dome tweeter works above that. Crossover points are set at 350 Hz and 2.1 kHz. The stated bandwidth is 36 Hz to 40 kHz within plus or minus 6 dB, sensitivity of 87 dB at 1 m and a nominal impedance of 6 ohm. Recommended amplifier power runs from 30 to 225 W. Each cabinet is 302 mm wide, 353 mm deep and 1038 mm tall and weighs 29.1 kg, rising to 38.6 kg once boxed for shipping.

Engineering and use context

All three woofers and the midrange unit use inverted surrounds, while an acoustic lens waveguide sits in front of the tweeter. Bass loading is reflex, via a twin port arrangement at the back, and rigid internal cross-bracing is used to stiffen the walls. Black natural walnut veneer covers the cabinet, trimmed with yellow accents, and the tower stands on aluminium feet. A grille attaches magnetically to cover the drivers. Arcam developed the Radia speakers with access to the measurement and testing resources of HARMAN. When the speakers are used with the Arcam SA35 or SA45 amplifiers, or with the Radia AV products announced for later, an Anechoic EQ function called AEQ is available to optimise the pairing. The wider range also includes the R15 and R25 bookshelf models, the R35C centre channel and the R25B active subwoofer, so the R35 can anchor the front channels of a matched multichannel system.

Pairing

The nominal load suits most integrated amplifiers, and the power window starting at 30 W points to electronics with more than minimal output. From the Arcam electronics catalogue, the SA35 and SA45 streaming amplifiers are the models that unlock the AEQ matching.

Alternatives

The Arcam R45 is the larger Radia floorstander, using three 165 mm woofers and a 165 mm midrange driver in a 1127 mm tall cabinet.
