The Premier 720F v2 is the entry tower of Paradigm's reworked Premier v2 range, engineered at the brand's headquarters in Canada. Paradigm calls the v2 range a complete redesign that borrows technology from its upper Founder line, with new drivers, revised bracing and a Black Walnut option added. It is listed at USD 999.99 per speaker, and the Japanese distributor PDN began selling pairs at JPY 396,000 on 20 September 2026.

Key specs that matter

Paradigm uses a bass-reflex three-way arrangement with four drivers here. The 25 mm AL-MAC tweeter, a ceramic dome of aluminium, magnesium and ceramic, sits in an Oblate Spheroid Waveguide. A 152 mm AL-MAG midrange cone with a 2 inch voice coil works between a pair of 152 mm Carbon-X unibody woofers of ultra-high excursion, each with a 1 inch coil. Both filters are second order, placed at 500 Hz and 1.3 kHz. On axis, the tower holds 55 Hz to 23 kHz within 3 dB, and 55 Hz to 20 kHz at 30 degrees off axis, with DIN bass extension to 27 Hz. Sensitivity reads 92 dB in room and 89 dB anechoic. Paradigm calls the load 8 ohm compatible, suggests 15 to 220 W of amplification and gives 180 W as maximum input. Each cabinet stands 100.6 cm tall, 31.8 cm wide and 43.2 cm deep and weighs 26 kg.

Engineering and use context

The Carbon-X woofer cones are single pieces without joints or adhesives, which Paradigm says reduces cone breakup at high levels. The midrange coil is wound on a ventilated Apical former, and the Perforated Phase-Aligning lens acts as an acoustic filter so that all frequencies arrive at the listener together. Braced MDF forms the enclosure. The tower rests on adjustable Outrigger Shock-Mount feet that take machined spikes for carpet or rubber caps for hard floors. Finishes are Piano Black, Walnut and Black Walnut. A listening space around 20 m2 fits its size.

The broad power window lets it run from a compact stereo amplifier or a multichannel receiver. In a home cinema the Premier 620C v2 or 520LCR v2 centre, both with coaxial Dual-Sync drivers, keeps the same tweeter and midrange technology across the front. These centres list at USD 1,299.99 and USD 899.99 respectively. The Oblate Spheroid Waveguide shapes tweeter output to aim energy at the listening position and lower the level reaching side walls and the ceiling, and the Outrigger feet are a v2 addition reserved for the floorstanding models.
