Напольная акустика — System Audio Legend 60.2

The Legend 60.2 is a floorstander of the Legend series made by the Danish firm System Audio A/S, which builds its loudspeakers by hand at its Danish plant. The model exists in a passive version and in an active form, and this Silverback is the active one, with built-in amplification. The current Legend 60.2 Silverback DS is listed by the maker at EUR 8,998 per pair with a Stereo Hub HT, or EUR 8,511 without the hub.

Key specs that matter

Six drivers are fitted per enclosure. A 25 mm woven silk dome tweeter with a DXT lens sits above a 150 mm Legend 15/4 midrange, and four 150 mm Legend 15/8 woofers fill the lower part of the front. System Audio quotes 17 Hz to 25,000 Hz within 1.5 dB. Four amplifiers per speaker share the 560 W total, and the woofers run in two pairs, each pair driven from its own Texas Instruments Class D module. The enclosure is 20 cm wide, 118 cm tall and 33.5 cm deep, reaching 31 cm across the feet, and weighs 27.2 kg. Standby draw is 2 W and the mains input accepts 100 to 240 V AC.

Engineering and use context

The Silverback module in the lower cabinet holds a WiSA HT wireless receiver, converters, an Analog Devices DSP crossover and the amplifiers. The passive Legend 60.2 is a three-way reflex design, but in the Silverback the two rear ports are blocked from the inside to give a sealed alignment, and the crossover points sit at 160 Hz and 3.2 kHz. System Audio calls it an active 4-way because of the four amplifier channels. The DSP can be updated with downloadable software. A balanced or unbalanced XLR input allows a wired link to a preamplifier, and a rear switch sets gain by 6 dB up or down and chooses stereo or multichannel duty. Outriggers with spikes and rubber feet come with the speaker, as do full-length fabric grilles, and buyers choose between satin white and satin black. The maker suggests floor placement 15 to 35 cm from the wall.

Pairing

For wireless play the speakers need a Stereo Hub HT or a Surround Hub, and WiSA HT carries uncompressed 24 bit and 96 kHz audio. The Stereo Hub HT adds HDMI eARC, three optical inputs, RCA analogue with a phono stage, USB and Ethernet plus streaming services, while the Surround Hub supports setups up to 7.1 with Dolby Atmos decoding and a Legend 10.2 Silverback DS centre.

Alternatives

The Legend 40.2 Silverback DS is the smaller active wireless floorstander in the same System Audio range, listed at EUR 4,999 per pair without the hub.
