The Versura V1 is a three-way closed-box loudspeaker from AUER ACOUSTICS, built on the same 22 cm wide, 35 cm deep footprint as the smaller Versura V0 but with a taller cabinet that holds an extra midrange driver. The maker lists it with its floor-standing speakers and offers an optional stand, and a V1H version at 119.1 cm high and 55 kg sits above it in the range, followed by the V2 and V4 towers. AUER ACOUSTICS is based in Bavaria, Germany, and quoted EUR 19,949 per pair for the V1 at launch.

Key specs that matter

AUER fits a 34 mm beryllium dome tweeter, a 12 cm midrange and an 18 cm bass-midrange unit. Sensitivity is 88 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, nominal impedance is 8 ohm with a minimum of 6 ohm, and AUER recommends at least 20 W of amplifier power. The lower cut-off is 33 Hz and the upper cut-off 40 kHz, both at plus or minus 3 dB. The cabinet is 54.7 cm high and the speaker weighs 31.7 kg, rising to 47 kg with the optional stand. The same 34 mm tweeter and 12 cm midrange reappear in the larger V2 and V4 towers, which add further bass drivers, with the V4 using a 32 cm woofer.

Engineering and use context

All Versura cabinets are made entirely from Tankwood, the German Panzerholz material in which layers of natural wood are densified using phenolic resin, which is denser than conventional board and accounts for the weight. AUER uses sealed enclosures across the line, stating that a closed box gives control over the bass regardless of listening volume. Compared with the two-way V0, handing the midrange to a dedicated cone lets the bass-midrange unit concentrate on the lower octaves. The crossover contains SESGO silver, gold and oil capacitors from Mundorf, while Jantzen supplies the rest of the network parts, and Van den Hul wire is used inside with a high silver content. Bi-wiring is optional. Eight lacquer colours from Deep Black to Traffic White are offered in matte or gloss, alongside walnut and oak natural finishes.

Pairing

With a moderate minimum impedance and a middling efficiency, a transistor amplifier with a decent power reserve is the logical match, and the split terminals accept bi-wire cable. The closed cabinet has no port to position against a wall, which makes placement in a room of about 20 m2 simpler.
