Полочная акустика — Canton Smart Libero

The Smart Libero is a compact powered speaker system from Canton, built to run from streaming sources without a separate amplifier. Canton is a long-established German loudspeaker manufacturer with a considerable passive speaker catalogue, and the Smart Libero represents the brand's move into a compact, self-contained wireless format.

Position in line

It sits in Canton's Smart range alongside larger Smart Sub subwoofers, positioned as the compact all-in-one speaker option rather than a passive bookshelf design. As a small-format product within Canton's broader catalogue, the Smart Libero serves a different use case entirely from the brand's conventional GLE and Vento passive ranges, aimed at a desk or small room rather than a dedicated listening space.

Key specs that matter

Rated response is 40 Hz to 30 kHz, a wide window for the compact size. The built-in amplifier is rated at 70 W. At 11.0 x 15.0 x 8.0 cm and 700 g it is a small, desk or shelf-scale unit, small enough to sit easily beside a laptop or on a narrow shelf without requiring dedicated speaker placement.

Sound and use context

Expect an immediate, source-driven presentation typical of a compact powered speaker, with the small cabinet limiting outright bass weight despite the wide rated top-end - this is squarely a convenience-focused product for casual listening rather than one built to compete with a conventional stereo system on scale or bass extension.

Pairing

No external amplifier is used - streaming or line-level sources connect directly to the built-in amplification, keeping the whole system down to just a source feeding this compact speaker.

Alternatives

Canton's GLE and Vento ranges offer passive bookshelf alternatives requiring a separate amplifier, for a system built around conventional stereo components instead, worth considering if this compact model's modest scale ultimately falls short of a buyer's listening ambitions. Canton extensive dealer network across Europe makes finding a demonstration unit practical for most buyers, worth doing given how much a compact powered speaker sound depends on the specific room and desk setup it ends up in. Given how many similarly compact powered speakers now compete in this segment, a direct comparison against a rival brand at a similar price is worth arranging before committing to a purchase. Overall this remains a sensible convenience purchase rather than a serious hi-fi statement.
