The Cambridge Audio Minx Min 22 is a compact passive satellite speaker from the Minx family, sold singly and now in its third generation. Cambridge Audio describes it as the step up from the smaller Min 12, adding a dedicated low-frequency driver to the Balanced Mode Radiator technology used across the range. The maker lists it at USD 129 per speaker in the US.

Cambridge Audio rates the bandwidth at 120 Hz to 20 kHz. Sensitivity is 88 dB measured with a 2.83 V rms input, nominal impedance is 8 ohm, and amplifiers from 25 to 200 W are recommended. Engineering and use context

A Balanced Mode Radiator combines flat panel behaviour with that of a conventional cone, and Cambridge Audio states that its fourth-generation BMR drivers give 180 degree dispersion for a wider listening area than conventional speakers. The speaker can be mounted vertically or horizontally, so the same model can serve as a stereo pair, as surround channels or as a centre speaker. A flat wall bracket comes in the box, and height-adjustable floor stands and a desktop stand are offered as mounting alternatives, covering home cinema, hi-fi and desktop use.

Pairing

The Minx range lists two subwoofers to partner the satellites, the X201 and the X301, listed in the US at USD 449 and USD 549 respectively, with the X301 rated at 300 W. Combining several satellites with one of these subwoofers builds a complete multichannel system from a single product family, and Cambridge Audio covers the Min 22 itself with a two-year manufacturer warranty.
