The M90 is an active two-way speaker pair from Edifier, presented at CES 2026 and released in early March of that year. It builds on the smaller M60 desktop model and adds HDMI eARC, which lets it work beside a television as well as a computer. One cabinet holds the amplification and inputs, while the second is passive and fed by a 5 m speaker cable. The US list price is USD 369.99, and buyers can choose white or black.

Key specs that matter

Each cabinet has a 4-inch long-throw mid-bass driver with an aluminium diaphragm and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter. Total amplifier power is 100 W RMS, split as 35 W per side for the mid-bass units and 15 W per side for the tweeters. Edifier gives a frequency range of 50 Hz to 40 kHz with noise held at least 85 dB(A) below the signal. Inputs are HDMI eARC, optical, USB-C, analogue AUX and Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC and SBC codecs and multipoint pairing, and a SUB OUT socket feeds an external subwoofer. The active cabinet measures 133 x 212 x 225 mm and the passive one is 210 mm deep, with a combined net weight of 6.05 kg. Certification covers Hi-Res Audio for wired playback and the wireless variant of that logo.

Engineering and use context

All processing runs at 24-bit/96 kHz from input to amplifier, and the DSP handles the crossover and dynamic range control. Because each driver has its own Class D channel, the crossover sits ahead of the amplifiers rather than in passive parts inside the cabinet. LDAC links reach up to 990 kbps from compatible phones. Three preset modes for music, film and gaming can be picked from the 2.4 GHz remote, which does not need line of sight. The ConneX app for phones adds a 9-band equaliser, source switching and playback control, and HDMI CEC lets a TV remote change the volume once the speakers are on the eARC port. Rated input sensitivity is 500 mFS for the digital inputs and 450 mV for AUX. The box includes optical, USB-C and AUX leads, so the pair can be connected to most sources without extra purchases.

Pairing

A computer can feed the pair over USB-C, a television over HDMI eARC or optical, and a phono preamplifier or turntable with a built-in stage via the analogue AUX socket. The SUB OUT socket is the route for users who want more low bass in film use. The compact depth suits a desk or a TV bench rather than floor stands.
