The VR3000 EX is a wireless over-ear headset for gaming from Japanese maker final, developed from the original VR3000, of which more than 160,000 units were sold. It went on sale on 12 December 2025 at USD 149.99, EUR 129.99 or GBP 99.99. Where the earlier model was a wired design, the EX adds a low-latency radio link, Bluetooth, a boom microphone and app control for long gaming sessions. The same launch also covered other final products such as the VR3000 Recable, the VR3000 +Condenser Mic kit and the DX4000 CL.
Key specs that matter
The headset weighs 389 g, which final offsets with the mesh headband and the adjustable cups described below. An 800 mAh battery gives up to 55 hours of continuous use, and a full recharge takes roughly two hours. A USB-A transceiver supplied in the box carries audio with latency that final rates at 25 ms or less. A Bluetooth 5.3 connection handles phones and other devices, using SBC or AAC. A retractable boom microphone covers voice chat and stows fully when not needed, and a dial on the earcup adjusts volume without reaching for the controller.
Engineering and use context
final calls its spatial processing 3D Extra Wide Sound Stage, intended to place in-game cues in front, behind, to the sides and above or below the player. Footstep Mode raises the level of close-range effects such as steps in shooter titles. A companion smartphone app offers a 10-band equaliser, user presets, the Footstep Mode toggle, per-game profiles and a balance control between game audio and chat. For comfort the headband uses a breathable mesh material that limits heat buildup, and the Multi-Fit Housing moves freely up, down, left and right so the cups sit evenly and side pressure is spread for hours of wear.
Pairing
The transceiver plugs straight into a PlayStation 5. On Nintendo Switch it goes into the dock, and handheld play needs a USB-A to USB-C adapter. A PC needs a free USB-A port, or an adapter on machines with only USB-C sockets. final states that Xbox consoles are not compatible at present. For music on the go, the Bluetooth link pairs with a phone while the dongle stays in the console.
