BASN Audio sells its wired in-ear monitors under the product name In Ear Monitor Headphones across several series, including Bsinger, Bmaster, Bmaster5, BmasterX, Metalen, ASONE and MTPro, and aims them at vocalists, guitarists, keyboard players, drummers and bass players.
Key specs that matter
The Bmaster is a hybrid triple driver design with two 10 mm dynamic drivers for lows and mids and one balanced armature for highs, sold in MMCX and 0.78 mm 2-pin versions. The Bmaster5 uses one dynamic driver and four balanced armatures, and the BmasterX is a six-driver hybrid. ASONE and MTPro move to planar drivers of 14.2 mm and 14.5 mm. The Bsinger PRO has two micro drivers with neodymium magnets, detachable MMCX cables, an adjustable memory ear hook and a gold-plated 3.5 mm L-type plug.
Engineering and use context
All of these monitors connect by detachable cable rather than a built-in radio. For the Bsinger PRO, BASN lists an upgrade from the standard MMCX lead to a microphone cable, a silver cable or a Bluetooth wireless MMCX cable, and that cable is the route to wireless use. Replacement leads cover MMCX and 2-pin plugs, and the DC100 offers interchangeable 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm and USB-C terminations. A Bmaster box holds memory foam tips, single and triple-layer silicone tips in three sizes, a microphone cable, a silver-plated cable, a 6.3 mm adapter and a carrying case.
Pairing
The Bsinger PRO's L-type plug fits personal in-ear monitoring systems and portable players, and the supplied adapter suits mixers and headphone amplifiers with larger jacks.
Alternatives
BASN also sells the AirS1, an open-ear Bluetooth headphone that works without any cable.
