The Bsinger Pro-SPM is a two-driver in-ear monitor in the Bsinger family of BASN Audio, sold to singers, drummers, audio professionals and other stage musicians as well as to people who want sealed earphones for daily use. BASN lists it at USD 59.99 in brown and black, the same figure as the LUX and more than the Bsinger PRO at USD 49.99, the Bsinger 2nd Generation, another dual dynamic MMCX design, at USD 46.99, the PRO 2-Pin at USD 45.99 and the BC100 at USD 39.99.
Key specs that matter
Each shell houses a pair of dynamic drivers. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 22 kHz, impedance 16 ohm and sensitivity 98 dB. Cables connect to the earpieces through MMCX sockets and terminate in a standard 3.5 mm jack, and the supplied cable with memory wire is about 1.5 m long.
Engineering and use context
What distinguishes the Pro-SPM from the regular Bsinger PRO is its cable set. The box holds a black silver-plated audio cable for monitoring and a second lead with an integrated microphone plus an inline remote for calls and volume control. Because the leads unplug at MMCX sockets, either one can be replaced if it fails after heavy stage use, and swapping leads moves the earpieces between monitoring and phone use. BASN shaped the housing so that it seals well in the ear canal, which blocks ambient noise passively, and it describes the shell as light, smooth and glossy with solid assembly. The memory wire section of the cable is bent around the ear to keep the earpieces stable during movement. Fit is set with three pairs of memory foam tips and three pairs of silicone tips, and the accessory list adds a hard carrying case, a 6.3 mm adapter, an airline adapter, a cable clip, cleaning papers, a cleaning tool and a user manual.
Pairing
The low impedance and good sensitivity keep the Pro-SPM within the output range of smartphones, tablets and portable music players, and the microphone lead makes it usable as a phone headset. On stage it connects to wired belt packs and wireless personal monitor receivers with mini-jack outputs, while the full-size adapter suits the headphone jacks of mixing consoles, keyboards and audio interfaces. Airline seat sockets are covered by the included adapter.
Alternatives
The BASN Bsinger PRO 2-Pin shares the dual dynamic driver layout but swaps the MMCX sockets for 0.78 mm 2-pin connectors.
