EarFun's Wave Pro X is a Hi-Res Audio certified wireless over-ear model with adaptive hybrid active noise cancelling and a closed-back design. It launched in late August 2026 at a list price of USD 129.99, and it sits above the earlier Wave Pro in the brand's over-ear range. EarFun built it around the Qualcomm QCC3095 platform, part of the Snapdragon Sound S3 Gen 3 family.
Key specs that matter
Two dynamic drivers sit in every cup in what EarFun calls a Dual-Coaxial Acoustic Architecture - a 40 mm driver with a diamond-like carbon diaphragm and a 10 mm driver with a liquid crystal polymer diaphragm. Codec support covers SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, LC3 and LDAC, and the wireless link runs on Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio and Auracast broadcast sharing. Rated playback reaches 90 hours when the cancelling is off, falling to 50 hours when it is active. Charging from empty needs about two hours, while a 15-minute top-up is quoted for roughly 10 hours of listening. The headphone weighs 259 g.
Engineering and use context
The chip integrates a 240 MHz Kalimba DSP, which handles a processed crossover that divides the signal into three phase-aligned frequency bands shared between the two drivers. Noise cancelling draws on an array of eight microphones and adapts its strength automatically. The cancelling stays available when the headphone is used over a cable, and wired listening is possible both through USB and through an analogue AUX input. Multipoint connection lets it stay linked to two source devices at once, while first-time setup with Android handsets is shortened by Google's Fast Pair. The cups fold inward so the headphone packs down for travel. The EarFun Audio app offers a user equaliser, remapping of the on-cup controls, an ultra-low latency Game Mode and a Theater Mode, and the headphone also gives access to the phone's voice assistant. EarFun's technical chief describes the processed crossover as AI-driven, managing how frequencies are split between the drivers.
Pairing
With LDAC and aptX Lossless on board, the widest codec choice opens up with Android phones and players that support those formats, while iPhones and most laptops connect over AAC or SBC. Auracast lets one source stream to several compatible receivers at once, and the USB connection gives a digital cable path from a computer when Bluetooth is not wanted.
Alternatives
The earlier EarFun Wave Pro is the brand's other wireless over-ear model, weighing 268 g.
