The Arctis Nova Elite is a SteelSeries gaming headset with closed over-ear cups and a wireless link, launched on 30 September 2025 at USD 599.99 in North America. The company presents it as the first gaming headset with Hi-Res Wireless certification, supporting 24-bit and 96 kHz transmission. Its styling was created by the Danish designer Jacob Wagner, and it comes in Obsidian and Sage and Gold colourways.
Key specs that matter
The drivers are 40 mm carbon fibre units of two-piece construction with a brass ring around the cone, which keeps the stiff diaphragm moving as a piston instead of flexing at the edges. Frequency response is quoted at 10 Hz to 40,000 Hz, sensitivity at 101 dB SPL and impedance at 38 ohm. The headset weighs 380 g. Wireless links are 2.4 GHz through the dock and Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC, LC3 and LC3+ codecs, and the high-resolution format is available over both.
Engineering and use context
The Infinite Power System uses two hot-swappable 700 mAh batteries, each rated for about 30 hours. One battery charges in the GameHub while the other runs the headset, and a swap can be made within about 8 seconds without losing the connection. A full charge takes about three hours, and 15 minutes of fast charging gives roughly 4 hours. Active noise cancellation is claimed to cut up to 89 percent of background noise, and a transparency mode is included. The retractable ClearCast Gen 2.X boom microphone records at 32 kHz and 16 bits with AI noise rejection that SteelSeries says blocks up to 97 percent of background noise. The frame is all metal, the earpads use memory foam under a leatherette cover, and the headband pairs a cloth-wrapped suspension strap with a metal band. The left cup carries a notched volume wheel, the power button and an ANC mode button, and the right cup has the Bluetooth pairing button. When the boom is retracted, a beamforming internal microphone takes over, and sidetone lets the user monitor their own voice.
Pairing
The GameHub dock accepts four sources at once, using three USB-C ports or two USB connections plus a 3.5 mm jack, so a PC, a PlayStation, an Xbox and a line-in source can stay connected together. A phone joins over Bluetooth. A hardware dial on the hub mixes the four sources in real time. On PC the SteelSeries GG app with Sonar adds an 11-band parametric EQ and virtual mixing.
Alternatives
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 is a lower-priced wireless headset from the same brand, with simultaneous 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth links.
