The Mustang GT20 is the smaller of two portable Bluetooth speakers that GoBoult, an Indian audio brand, introduced together under an official global partnership with Ford Mustang. The car maker's styling cues are carried over into the enclosure rather than applied as a sticker, and the pair went on sale on 5 May 2026. The GT20 launched at INR 2,999, against an MOP of INR 3,999 and an MRP of INR 7,999, and it comes in two colours named Turbo Ice and Turbo Black.

Key specs that matter

GoBoult rates the speaker at 20 W total output. Two dynamic drivers handle the full band and are assisted by a passive bass radiator instead of a port. The internal battery holds 4,000 mAh and is quoted for up to 7 hours of playback per charge, with charging through a USB Type-C socket. Wireless playback runs over Bluetooth 6.0 with EDR, and the enclosure carries an IPX4 rating for splash resistance. Besides a phone or tablet, the unit can play files stored on a TF memory card or a USB drive, so it works without any paired device at all.

Engineering and use context

Most of the design work went into the car theme. The body has a leather-textured finish, the front wears a metallic race grille with Mustang lettering, and lights under the base mimic daytime running lamps. Control is built around a shift-stick lever modelled on an ignition, which acts as a push-start switch and plays an engine-style effect when the speaker is switched on. Remaining charge is displayed on an indicator styled as a fuel gauge, while pads on the underside borrow their look from traction control graphics. Multi-mode RGB LEDs add further lighting effects. Co-founder Varun Gupta has said the team studied the Mustang design philosophy closely instead of treating the deal as conventional licensing. GoBoult positions the model as a design-led product for a speaker market in India that it describes as moving away from purely utility purchases.

Pairing

Source devices connect over Bluetooth, so a phone, tablet or laptop can stream to the GT20 directly. A TWS mode links two units so they play as a left and right pair. For playback away from a phone, a TF card or USB stick with music files can be inserted directly, and playback then runs from the speaker itself.

Alternatives

The GoBoult Mustang GT40 is the 40 W sibling from the same launch and adds metallic bass, treble and volume knobs plus a leatherette carrying strap.
