The Mustang GT40 is a portable Bluetooth speaker from GOBOULT, an Indian audio and wearables brand co-founded by Varun Gupta, and it belongs to a line produced under a global partnership with Ford's Mustang. GOBOULT describes itself as the first Indian audio brand to work with Mustang, and the styling borrows the car's design language and racing details. Gupta presented the launch as a response to Indian buyers moving from purely utility-driven speakers towards products picked for design, identity and personality. Sales began on 5 May 2026 at an introductory price of INR 3,999, against a market operating price of INR 5,999 and an MRP of INR 9,999, so the launch figure equalled about 40 percent of the printed maximum retail price.

Key specs that matter

Rated output is 40 W RMS, produced by two dynamic drivers working with a passive bass radiator. Wireless playback uses Bluetooth 6.0 with EDR, and the speaker can also read music files stored on TF cards and USB flash storage. The enclosure carries an IPX4 rating against splashes, and GOBOULT claims a wireless range of up to 10 metres. Battery endurance is quoted at up to 7 hours per charge. Charging runs through a USB Type-C port. Two colours are offered, Apex Black and Oxford White.

Engineering and use context

Volume, bass and treble each have a dedicated metallic rotary knob on the GT40, so the tone settings are adjusted directly on the speaker. Remaining charge appears on an indicator styled like a car fuel gauge. The outer shell is wrapped in a leather-like textured material and carries Mustang badges, a metallic mesh race grille covers the drivers, and protectors reinforce each corner of the body. A leatherette strap is attached for carrying.

Pairing

Smartphones, tablets and computers stream to the GT40 over Bluetooth, while an inserted USB stick or TF card allows playback with no source device connected. TWS support links two GT40 units wirelessly into left and right channels, a mode which the company says also raises the combined output.

The GOBOULT Mustang GT20 is the smaller speaker of the same series, rated at 20 W RMS with RGB underbody lighting and an ignition-style shift-stick control.
