Key specs that matter

Three drivers, a full-range unit, a tweeter and a subwoofer, share 60 W of maximum power, and maximum level is 96 dB SPL at 1 m. A combo input takes XLR or 6.35 mm jack plugs and provides 48 V phantom power, with a PAD button that lowers the input level by 14 dB. Two low-latency wireless channels are provided alongside Bluetooth, and up to four sources can play at once. The 3.5 mm AUX socket is an output. Bluetooth 5.3 supports SBC, AAC, LC3 and LHDC at up to 48 kHz and 24 bit. The lithium-ion polymer battery runs for 18 hours, and a 15 minute charge gives 1.5 hours, with a USB adapter of 20 W or more recommended. The speaker is rated IP54, measures 12.3 x 10.4 x 19.6 cm and weighs 1.79 kg, and it comes in Skyscraper Black or Olympic White.

Engineering and use context

Signal processing runs on a Waves system-on-chip, which divides the signal between the three drivers and manages their levels. Fender's Adaptive Voltage Optimization keeps the output consistent at any volume setting as the battery discharges. The combo input turns the speaker into a small amplifier for a microphone or an instrument, and phantom power lets it run condenser microphones, which need an external supply. The PAD button prevents overload when a source with a hot output, such as a mixer or keyboard, is plugged in. The low-latency wireless channels keep the delay short enough for live use. Three linking modes are offered, Single, Stereo with a second ELIE speaker, and Multi, which connects up to 100 speakers. Through USB-C the ELIE 06 can also charge a phone or other device from its own battery, and a 12 V option allows power from a vehicle supply. IP54 protection covers dust and water splashes, which suits outdoor use.

Pairing

Bluetooth links the speaker to phones, tablets and laptops, and a guitar, keyboard or microphone plugs into the combo input. The AUX output can feed another speaker or a recorder, and a second ELIE 06 creates a stereo pair.

Alternatives

The Fender Audio ELIE 12 is the larger model with doubled drivers and 120 W of power.
