The DX340 Limited Edition is a titanium version of iBasso's DX340 digital audio player, made in 300 units worldwide. Its body is CNC-milled from titanium instead of the 316 stainless steel of the standard DX340, which launched in January 2025. The edition was announced in February 2026 and launched on 12 March 2026 at EUR 1,790 and GBP 1,899, against GBP 1,499 for the standard model.
Key specs that matter
The player runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, expandable with microSD cards up to 2 TB. The 6.0 inch AMOLED screen has 1080 x 2160 pixels. Conversion is handled by an in-house discrete 1-bit DAC of 16 cascaded groups of 8E PWM converters controlled by FPGA-Master 3.0, supporting PCM up to 32 bit and 768 kHz and native DSD512. With the 12 V DC input, the 4.4 mm balanced output delivers 2150 mW per channel into 32 ohm and the 3.5 mm output 550 mW, and on battery the figures are 1200 mW and 312 mW. Signal to noise ratio is 123 dB balanced and 118 dB single-ended, THD+N -119 dB and -117 dB and crosstalk -140 dB and -138 dB. A 3.8 V 4000 mAh battery and a 3.8 V 2100 mAh battery give about 11 hours of playback. The player weighs 486 g.
Engineering and use context
A PWM DAC turns the digital signal into a stream of pulses whose width carries the audio, and building it from discrete parts controlled by an FPGA lets iBasso design the conversion itself instead of using a converter chip. The two batteries follow a patented layout in which the larger one feeds the digital section and the smaller one the amplifier card, which keeps interference from the processor away from the analogue path. The amplifier is the replaceable AMP15 module, held by two screws on the bottom, and it can be swapped for other AMP1x modules such as the AMP12, AMP13 and AMP14. The included DC adapter lets the player run at higher output power at a desk. Two operating systems are installed, Android 13 for streaming apps and Mango OS, a lightweight system dedicated to music playback. Supported formats include APE, FLAC, WAV, WMA, AAC, ALAC, AIFF, OGG, MP3, DFF, DSF, DXD and DST. Titanium is lighter than stainless steel for the same strength.
Pairing
Full-size headphones that need a lot of power are best driven from the balanced output, especially on DC power, and the single-ended output suits in-ear monitors. A coaxial output, USB DAC mode, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi connect it to other equipment.
Alternatives
The iBasso DX340 MAX Ti Limited Edition is the larger titanium player with 160 PWM DAC elements and four batteries.
