Прочие устройства — We Are Rewind Curtis GB-001

The Blaster Curtis GB-001 is a boombox from We Are Rewind, a French company previously known for its WE-001 portable cassette player. Its neo-retro cabinet takes cues from 1980s ghetto blasters, while the electronics add Bluetooth, a replaceable battery and an input for a guitar. The GB-001 was shown at the NAMM Show in January 2026, and list prices are GBP 379, EUR 449 and USD 579.

Total output is 104 W, split between two woofers rated at 32 W RMS each and a pair of 20 W soft dome tweeters. For the speaker system, We Are Rewind lists 35 to 20,000 Hz. The cassette section plays and records two-track stereo, reaching 40 to 12,500 Hz on playback and 40 to 11,500 Hz when recording. Wireless reception uses Bluetooth 5.4, and wired sockets include a 3.5 mm stereo line input, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a mono microphone input with its own level control. The unit measures 50.6 x 25.1 x 17.9 cm including the handle and weighs 6.81 kg.

Engineering and use context

The tape deck accepts Type I and Type II chrome cassettes, and a selector on top sets the bias for each tape type. We Are Rewind specifies a higher grade mechanism with an adjustable motor for steady speed, plus a pitch control on the rear panel and an active AC erase head intended to keep recording noise down. Playback and recording levels appear on a pair of backlit needle VU meters in the front panel. A dynamic power control circuit limits distortion as volume rises, and a spatialisation mode can be switched in. Rotary knobs handle source selection, volume, bass, treble and balance, and a dedicated button starts Bluetooth pairing. Power comes from a 14.8 V, 3000 mAh lithium-ion pack that the owner can swap out, charged through an 18 V, 4 A mains adapter. Runtime is quoted at about 10 hours for tape through the speakers and 15 hours for the auxiliary input, rising to about 15 and 28 hours respectively on headphones. A collapsible silver handle folds away when the unit sits on a shelf.

Pairing

A phone, tablet or computer streams over Bluetooth, and any source with a headphone or line output can feed the line input. The microphone socket accepts a mono mic for vocals or recording, and the guitar amplifier function lets an electric guitar play through the built-in speakers. Headphones connect to the front jack for private listening from tape or the auxiliary input.
