The Rotel RA-1572MKII is a full-width integrated amplifier with a Texas Instruments DAC, an MM phono input and wireless Bluetooth. Engineering and use context

The supply rail starts at an oversized toroid that Rotel manufactures itself, which Rotel says is meant to keep noise out of the signal path, backed by a bank of four low-ESR T-Network slit-foil capacitors. Digital sources connect through coaxial and optical inputs up to 24-bit/192 kHz LPCM, and the PC-USB port runs in Class 1 mode at 24-bit/192 kHz or in Class 2 mode at 32-bit/384 kHz. Bluetooth supports aptX and AAC. Analogue sources have RCA line inputs plus balanced XLR inputs, and a record deck using a moving magnet pickup has its own dedicated input. Headphones use a 3.5 mm socket, while Ethernet and RS232 ports allow integration with control systems and are also used for software updates. The DAC output has tuned filter circuits, and the preamplifier and linear amplifier gain stages are custom-engineered by Rotel. Source selection, volume and speaker A-B switching are available from the front panel.

Pairing

Two sets of speaker outputs with A-B selection allow a second pair of speakers to be driven for a Zone 2 area. A 1.5 V preout lets the amplifier feed an external power amplifier or a powered subwoofer. Balanced-output sources plug into the XLR sockets, and the USB Class 2 mode is the route for the highest sample rates from a computer.

Rotel's RA-6000 is the more powerful Rotel integrated, with a higher continuous output and a damping factor of 600.
