The L-100c, sold by Luxman as the L-100 CENTENNIAL, is an integrated amplifier running entirely in Class A, and the first pure Class A design from the company to use its LIFES 1.1 core circuitry. It carries an MM and MC phono input, bass and treble adjustment, loudness compensation and two headphone outputs, and was first shown publicly at AXPONA in April 2026 with shipping planned for late May or June 2026. The North American retail price is USD 11,995.

Key specs that matter

Rated output is 20 W per channel into 8 ohm and 40 W per channel into 4 ohm. The line input needs 180 mV at 47 kohm, the balanced line input 180 mV at 55 kohm, and the main-in 450 mV at 47 kohm. Phono sensitivity is 2.5 mV at 47 kohm for MM and 0.3 mV at 100 ohm for MC. Line response runs from 20 Hz to 100 kHz within -3 dB, and the phono section covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz within 0.5 dB. Distortion is 0.005% or less at 1 kHz and 0.015% or less across 20 Hz to 20 kHz, both into 8 ohm. Signal to noise is 98 dB or better on line, 80 dB on MM and 65 dB on MC. The damping factor is 300, the pre out delivers 1 V, and the chassis measures 440 x 178 x 454 mm at 25.4 kg.

Engineering and use context

LIFES stands for Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System, an architecture that uses multiple field effect transistors to detect and correct distortion. Volume runs through the LECUA1000 attenuator, an electronically controlled system with 88 steps. Power comes from a custom EI-core transformer feeding eight 10,000 uF filter capacitors, 80,000 uF in all. Bass and treble adjust by 8 dB at 100 Hz and 10 kHz. Pre-out and main-in connections allow the pre stage and the power stage to be used on their own. The unit draws 260 W in operation, 210 W with no signal and 0.5 W on standby, running on 230 V at 50 Hz or 115 V at 60 Hz. Yellow needle meters sit in a brushed white front panel with a chrome CENTENNIAL badge, and their lighting can be switched off. A 7-segment LED display shows the volume setting, and a remote control is supplied. Luxman presents the model as the successor to the discontinued L-590 line, bringing back a Class A integrated to its range, and it was launched alongside the D-100 CENTENNIAL SACD player priced at USD 18,995.

Pairing

Dual speaker terminals allow bi-wiring. Headphone listeners get a 6.3 mm socket and a 4.4 mm balanced output that keeps independent grounds for each channel, and turntables with either MM or MC pickups connect straight to the phono section.

Alternatives

The Luxman L-590AXII is another pure Class A integrated from the brand, rated at 30 W per channel into 8 ohm.
