THE TONEARM by Einstein Audio Components of Germany is offered in 10-inch and 12-inch versions, and this is the 10-inch arm. It was developed over six years of prototypes and is built in cooperation with Katsuaki Ishiyama of IT Industries in Tokyo, drawing on the ideas of Fidelity Research.

Key specs that matter

The arm tube combines a stainless steel outer pipe with an aluminium inner pipe to suppress resonance. A newly developed bearing assembly sits in a solid milled block, which allows the vertical and horizontal bearings to be adjusted precisely. The headshell is machined from solid aluminium, is removable and locks without play, guided by two pins.

Engineering and use context

Azimuth can be adjusted after loosening two Allen screws on the headshell, and VTA is set with a dedicated height adjustment. The arm is intended for medium and low compliance cartridges, with an optional extra weight for heavier bodies. Internal wiring is available in copper or silver.
