The PC-1 coda is a moving coil cartridge from Air Tight that follows the PC-1 and PC-1 Supreme. It mounts a 3 x 30 micron semi-line stylus on a boron cantilever and adds a revised suspension mechanism.

Key specs that matter

Output is 0.5mV at 1kHz and internal impedance is 1.7 ohms DCR. Recommended loading is below 200 ohms and tracking force 2.0 to 2.2g. Channel balance is within 0.5dB at 1kHz, and the cartridge weighs 12.7g.

Engineering and use context

Air Tight machines the chassis from A7075 extra super duralumin, chosen for its high tensile strength, while the housing uses A6063 alloy and the output pins are rhodium plated. The low output suits a transformer step-up or a high gain moving coil input.

Alternatives

Air Tight's earlier PC-1 Supreme is a moving coil cartridge with a 1 ohm internal impedance.
