The C910 SUB is the smaller of two powered subwoofers in the Concert 9 series from Jamo. It uses a long stroke driver in a compact bass reflex cabinet and is built to work either on a cable or through an optional wireless link. Jamo positions it for both home theatre and two-channel music systems, and the current catalogue lists it in a Matte White finish.
Key specs that matter
The C910 SUB relies on a 250 mm long stroke woofer carrying an Injection Moulded Graphite cone, mounted to fire forward. Its Class D amplifier module is rated at 150 W, with 300 W given as the maximum figure. The response within plus or minus 3 dB runs from 32 Hz to 125 Hz, and the -6 dB point falls at 28 Hz. Jamo quotes a maximum level of 110 dB at 1 m. A low-pass control covers 40 Hz to 200 Hz without fixed steps, and a switch flips phase between 0 and 180 degrees. The cabinet measures 400 mm high, 318 mm wide and 408 mm deep and weighs 12 kg net. The mains label indicates 100 to 240 V at 50 or 60 Hz and 200 W consumption.
Engineering and use context
Graphite in the injection moulded cone keeps moving mass low while adding stiffness, which lets a long stroke motor move the diaphragm quickly without the surface flexing. Since driver and port opening both face the listener, no clearance behind the enclosure is required for port airflow, which Jamo presents as a way to keep placement flexible. The port tube is flared to reduce air noise at high excursion. The rear panel carries a WA-2 port that accepts the optional Jamo WA-2 kit, a 2.4 GHz transmitter and receiver set with a range of up to about 15 m, which works only with Jamo subwoofers that have this port. Once that kit is fitted, no interconnect has to be run across the floor to the enclosure. A rocker power switch sits beside the fused AC inlet.
Pairing
Two RCA line inputs, marked Left/LFE and Right, take a single LFE cable into the left socket from an AV receiver, or two leads carrying left and right from the preamplifier outputs of a two-channel amplifier. When the receiver handles bass management, Jamo advises turning the low-pass knob fully up so the filters do not overlap. For larger floorstanding main speakers the manual suggests a crossover between 50 Hz and 90 Hz, while small bookshelf or satellite models call for 90 Hz to 150 Hz.
Alternatives
The Jamo C912 SUB in the same Concert 9 series steps up to a 12 inch IMG woofer, 200 W rated amplification and a 25 Hz -6 dB point.
